(02) Ich bitte Sie, mir zu gestatten, dass ich mich bei der Beantwortung Ihres liebenswürdigens Schreibens vom 12.11. der deutschen Sprache bediene. Dänisch dürfte, wie ich annehme, Ihnen nicht geläufig sein. Das gleiche gilt für mich, was die französische Sprache betrifft.-
(03) Bereits neulich in DresdenDresden (historical), city in Germany, -ich besuchte Herrn Prof. Dr. WarnekrosKurt Warnekros (1882–1949), a German gynecologist who performed all but the first of four surgeries on Lili Elvenes; director of the Women’s Clinic in Dresden (Staatliche Frauenklinik) from 1925 to 1948, -nannte man mir den Namen Ihres Verlages als Interessenten für die französische Ausgabe der hinterlassenen Aufzeichnungen Lili ElbeLili Elbe (fictional and historical), legal name Lili Ilse Elvenes; born Einar Wegener (1882), died in Dresden, 1931s, deren Herausgabe in allen in Betracht kommenden Ländern ich zu besorgen habe.
(04) Die dänische Ausgabe des Buches, das unter dem Titel "Fra Mand til Kvinde" (Von Mann zum Weib) bereits Anfang Dezember in einem hiesigen sehr angesehenen Verlag erscheint, ist nach der deutschen Fassung, die als Original-deutsche Fassung zu betrachten ist, und zwar, nachdem Herr Prof. Dr. WarnekrosKurt Warnekros (1882–1949), a German gynecologist who performed all but the first of four surgeries on Lili Elvenes; director of the Women’s Clinic in Dresden (Staatliche Frauenklinik) from 1925 to 1948 die deutsche Fassung gelesen und gut geheissen hat, vorgenommen worden. Ich könnte Ihnen also auf Wunsch ein Exemplar des deutschen Manuskriptes zustellen.- Im Dänischen wurden in der ersten Hälfte des Manuskriptes beträchtliche Kürzungen vorgenommen, die auch bei der deutschen Buchausgabe übernommen werden sollen.-

(06) Die Bedingungen, die ich von dem hiesigen Verleger, dem Hage & Clausen Forlag, erhalten habe, sollen auch für die anderen Länder die Unterlage geben: 20% vom Buchladenpreis mit einer Baranzahlung von 3000 Exemplaren. Die Übersetzung wäre dann hiervon zu honorieren sein.
(07) Es handelt sich bei diesem Buch nicht um einen landläufigen Roman, sondern um mehr: um einen autobiografischen Lebensbericht, um eine Beichte eines Menschen, dessen Schicksal völlig einzigartig in der Menschheitsgeschichte steht.- Ich lege Ihnen das deutsche Geleitwort zur Kenntnisnahme bei. Damit wird auch die dänische Ausgabe eingeleitet werden.
(08) Ich hätte Gelegenheit, das Buch ev. hier ins Französische übertragen zu lassen, d.h. durch eine hier z.Zt. ansässige Französin, die bereits mehrere Übertragungen ausgeführt hat. Auf die Weise könnte ich mit der Übersetzerin ihre Bearbeitung leicht kontrollieren.

(03) Recently in DresdenDresden (historical), city in Germany, -I was visiting Mr. Prof. Dr. WarnekrosKurt Warnekros (1882–1949), a German gynecologist who performed all but the first of four surgeries on Lili Elvenes; director of the Women’s Clinic in Dresden (Staatliche Frauenklinik) from 1925 to 1948, -the name of your publishing company was mentioned to me as a company that was interested in the French edition of the writings that Lili ElbeLili Elbe (fictional and historical), legal name Lili Ilse Elvenes; born Einar Wegener (1882), died in Dresden, 1931 left behind, whose publication in various countries I am responsible for.
(04) The Danish edition of the book, which will be published in the beginning of December under the title of "Fra Mand til Kvinde" (From Man Into Woman) by a locally esteemed publisher, has been planned to be modeled after the German edition, which is to be regarded as the original edition, due to Mr. Prof. Dr. WarnekrosKurt Warnekros (1882–1949), a German gynecologist who performed all but the first of four surgeries on Lili Elvenes; director of the Women’s Clinic in Dresden (Staatliche Frauenklinik) from 1925 to 1948, who after reading it, approved this. If you wish, I could send you a copy of the German manuscript. In the Danish edition, significant cuts have been made in the first half of the manuscript, which will also be applied in the German edition.-

(06) The terms that I received from the local publisher, Hage & Clausen Forlag, should be an example for all of the other countries: 20% of the store price with a cash down payment of 3000 copies. The translation would be paid for by this.
(07) This book isn’t a mainstream novel, it is a lot more: It is an autobiographical report about a life, someone’s confession, whose fate is unique in world history.- I will also include the German foreword for your perusal. The Danish edition will also be introduced with this foreword.
(08) I have the opportunity to possibly have the book translated into French, by a Frenchwoman who is currently living here who has already completed various translations. In this way, I could easily supervise the work with the translator.
