Periodicals
This section contains articles on the Wegeners and Lili Elbe from Danish periodicals, such as Sandheden, Politiken and Ekstra Bladet, including an article in Sandheden (December 1930) that declared Lili Elbe’s proposed book “scandalous” and led Steen Hasselbalch to pull out of an agreement to publish it; an interview with the Wegeners on life in Paris and French art in Kobenhavn (8 March 1924); two obituaries for Lili Elbe (14 September 1931); reviews of the Danish edition from newspaper clippings found in the Ernst Harthern archive; a version of Elbe’s narrative published in Dresden by Scherl Magazin on 7 May 1931; and, the five issues of Voilà that comprise the French version of Elbe’s narrative. The bolded identifiers of each document link to the encoded transcriptions and translations. The facsimile images link to the original documents.
